I didn't want to pay for the OEM adapter at $89.00+ for this older computer, so I thought I would try a lower priced aftermarket one. I was a liitle skeptical about what the quality would be like because of the low price. I received the device early (great customer service) and in minutes, right out of the box, with a few obvious adjustments it was working like a charm. The quality is nice, and it seems to be meeting all of the claims made by the manufacturer. I just got it today. But, it seems to be a GREAT value!

(More customer reviews)I bought my PA3290U-3ACAR from Amazon.com for around $70. The PA3290U-3ACAR is the same as the PA3290U-3ACA; the "R" at the end means that it is ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) compliant. Both models have the same compatibility device chart. I have a Toshiba A305 laptop and both adapters are compatible with it. I've been using the adapter for about two weeks and it has been working great. I've read user reviews of Toshiba AC adapters shorting out/falling apart over time; hopefully this will not happen to me. I'm happy with my purchase because I was able to purchase a genuine Toshiba product for $40 less than what Toshiba is selling it for.

(More customer reviews)The original power cord for my Compaq had started to fray almost immediately at the tip that goes into the laptop. I'd MacGyvered for a while with electrical tape, but it finally started to give up the ghost. This was the cheapest universal charger I could find and I thought it'd be worth trying rather than spending four times as much at a brick-and-mortar store. I received it in three days and it works. The power brick has seven settings from 12 to 24 volts and there are eight tips, so it took a few minutes to find the settings and tip I needed. My battery is charging and the connection is very secure, better than the original. So far, I don't have any negatives.

Operates on 100-240 VAC using a standard 2-pin line cord and operates on 9 - 15 (nominal 12) VDC with separate cigarette lighter style cable which adapts to the European style DC power plugs found on some commercial and private aircraft. Price and quality (voltage regulation) is good. The green arm wrist braclet is useless (unless one likes those sort of things).

I sent feedback to the seller, letting them know that I'd only had the product for three months, and received feedback from them..."Sorry, you've had the product for over three months." So I guess that means no remedy for the situation, which is kind of funny because I looked at their seller profile and saw that others had problems with the product, including cord issues, and the seller's response to them was that the product had a one-year warranty. Supposedly, some even received replacements...
I guess it was good while it lasted and I got my $20 worth out of the product, but I won't be buying from this seller again.

(More customer reviews)The Anker laptop charger works perfectly with our Inspiron 6400. After going through a few Dell branded replacements, we decided to go for something a little bit cheaper. The Anker brand charger from LaptopMate was really a no-brainer with a 1 year warranty as well as excellent return policy through LaptopMate. You can be sure that if the charger won't work with your laptop that LaptopMate will refund you for the item as well as the shipping!! Luckily the charger worked with our laptop but I knew that even if it didn't I would be able to get a full refund.
There are a few differences between this charger and the old Dell charger. First, the Anker charger has a small velcro strap that holds the cord from the charger to the laptop in place. The velcro strap should help eliminate a common problem with these types of chargers where the cord separates from the unit (which happened to our last Dell branded charger). There is no rubber strap included with the Anker brand charger like there is with the Dell charger; we just use the old one from the dell charger, but only for the power cord.
In all this charger charges the battery as well as powers the laptop; I noticed with other brands that reviewers mentioned that the unit would not charge the battery properly. I also wanted to mention that we initially had the 65W version of the dell charger and that this 90W version works perfectly with our laptop.
I won't ever be buying an overpriced Dell branded charger again!

(More customer reviews)This purchase taught me one thing and one thing only: An AC Adapter and a CHARGER are (apparently) two totally different things, even though they look EXACTLY the same and even have the same model numbers written all over them.
This does not charge my laptop. It apparently doesn't charge ANYONE's laptops. I have an Inspiron 1525. This adaptor does keep my laptop on, but it does not charge the battery. Well, what's the point, then? Why would i want to leave my battery stuck at 35% all day? Waste of money, unless you hate your battery for some reason.
That said, the company who sold me this actually offered to refund my money, which was very nice of them. I declined, and i just keep the adapter around just in case i might need to keep my laptop on and i don't feel like charging either of my batteries (which is, by the way, stupid).UPDATE: Someone commented on my review that this product's description never says that it's a charger. Fair enough. It also doesn't say that it's NOT a charger, which is misleading. And if you're like most people, when you need to replace your CHARGER, you will likely read the model number from your existing charger, and type it into the search bar. This "AC Adapter" will come up on the list because it has the same model number. Defend the company all you want...this is meant to mislead customers and increase sales.
By the way, the SAME commenter (in a moment of utter brilliance) also said that there must be something wrong with my battery, since this Adapter doesn't charge it. Wait...i thought you said it wasn't a charger. Make up your mind son!

I plugged it into my Dell Inspiron laptop, and all it would do is maintain the current low state of charge - the battery did not gain any charge even though it was plugged in overnight.
