(More customer reviews)The original power cord for my Compaq had started to fray almost immediately at the tip that goes into the laptop. I'd MacGyvered for a while with electrical tape, but it finally started to give up the ghost. This was the cheapest universal charger I could find and I thought it'd be worth trying rather than spending four times as much at a brick-and-mortar store. I received it in three days and it works. The power brick has seven settings from 12 to 24 volts and there are eight tips, so it took a few minutes to find the settings and tip I needed. My battery is charging and the connection is very secure, better than the original. So far, I don't have any negatives.
