(More customer reviews)I won't waste much of your time and get straight to the problem areas. The first time I carefully extended the cords (pulling both sides slowly), a piece of the plastic hub broke off where the cord comes out. The cord seemed short so I measured the entire cord including plugs--28 inches exactly (not 3 feet as promised). The extension does work; data transferred between iTunes and my iPad 2. However it took 2-3 pulls to get it to fully retract. I don't recommend this.
NOTE: The iPad 2 takes a lot of power to recharge (more than an iPhone or iPod) so you CANNOT recharge it with just this cord plugged into your computer. You must get a cord with a wall socket adapter specifically for the iPad.
