(More customer reviews)I bought this charger for my Canon Vixia HV30. The charger is fairly easy to assemble. Yes, you have to slip a plate that has receivers for the batteries over what appears to be the power supply. The problem is that in my unit, that plate simply doesn't make good contact with the power supply. The result: the LED glows green (means charged) when a completely dead battery is in the cradle. After a lot of wrestling, I managed to seat the plate and charged 1 battery (the LED turned red, then green a few hours later). I thought I had the problem solved. Wrong! When I tried to put another batter in to charge, the LED stayed green and the battery stayed dead.
No matter what I try, I can't get this thing to charge a battery. The camera and batteries are new. The problem is with this charger. It's badly made and totally unreliable. I finally ordered the Canon charger (costs $50 from Canon), but at least I know that will work. Save your money and avoid this product.
