(More customer reviews)I am not sure about Japan or UK, but in the Netherlands it allowed the 3rd prong of my US cord to contact their ground and worked great. Otherwise is a clever little holder arangement (but I only take what I need because I know where I am going). Please note that it is a plug adapter only (NOT a voltage converter).
